SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33

Raising awareness of West Virginia's children and families.
Whereas, West Virginia's children are our greatest resource
for the future and must be protected and nurtured by all segments
of our society; and
Whereas, A large number of West Virginia's children have
endured the tragedy and emotional distress of divorce and family
separation; and
Whereas, In spite of divorce and separation within the family
unit, the family nucleus should endure for the betterment of our
children; and
Whereas, The involvement of maternal and paternal family
members in the lives of our children is vital to the preservation
of their preparation for the future; and
Whereas, All governmental agencies involved in the areas of
children and families should strive for solutions to the problems
that exist in the family unit for the welfare of our children;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby raises awareness of the importance of
children and families in the state of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate requests all governmental
agencies involved in the areas of children and families to attempt
to find solutions to the problems that exists in the family for the
welfare of our children; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the Governor of West Virginia and the
Director of the Governor's Ccabinet on Cchildren and Ffamilies.
